Former DCA Head Joins Huron Consulting Group
CHICAGO - October 19, 2006 - Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of financial and operational consulting services, today announced that Paul Nacon has joined the Company’s Higher Education practice as a director. Nacon specializes in federal research cost recovery and grant management.

With more than 35 years of experience in auditing, accounting and management consulting, Nacon is known as a national expert in cost allocation and federal compliance in the higher education and non-profit grantee research community. Prior to joining Huron, Nacon was the national director for the Division of Cost Allocation (DCA) with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington D.C. He provided leadership and guidance to the DCA that resulted in many important changes to the DCA internal operations, as well as establishing an important communications link with the university and non-profit research community. During his career, he has also held senior roles with MAXIMUS Higher Education Practice, Bearing Point and KPMG.
Nacon, who is a past president of the Western Section of the Society of Research Administrators (SRA), has been active in professional organizations associated with research and financial compliance for more than 30 years. He is a contributing author to a newly published book titled “Research Administration and Management.” Nacon also has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout his career, and most recently received the 2006 SRA Distinguished Contribution Award to Research Administration.
Nacon, who received his BA in Accounting from California State University at Fullerton, is based in Huron’s Chicago office.
