Gene Lockhart

H. Eugene Lockhart has served on our board of directors since December 2006. Mr. Lockhart serves as chair of the Finance and Capital Allocation Committee and serves on the Audit and the Compensation Committees.

Since October 2014, Mr. Lockhart has been the founder, Chairman Emeritus and General Partner of MissionOG LLC, a venture capital firm with significant operational and investment experience across the financial services and payments industries. Since July 2020, Mr. Lockhart has served as a senior advisor to Blackstone across the firm's business, with a focus on Blackstone Growth and Blackstone Tactical Opportunities. He also served as Special Adviser at General Atlantic LLC, a leading global growth investment firm from 2012 to 2019.

From 2002 until 2012, Mr. Lockhart was a venture partner at Oak Investment Partners, a venture capital firm. Through these investment firms, Mr. Lockhart has been actively involved in overseeing the management of high growth private companies, including NetSpend, Argus Information, Metro Bank PLC, CLIP, DemystData, Factor Trust, Avant, BillDesk, Alkami Technology, Inc., a digital banking system provider from May 2021 through December 2022, and others. Prior leadership positions include, President of Global Retail Bank at Bank of America, President and Chief Executive Officer of MasterCard International, and CEO of Midland Bank plc. Mr. Lockhart served on the board of Metro Bank PLC, a public retail bank operating in the U.K., in March 2011, including service as the Chairman of the risk and audit committee. He also served on the board of First Republic Bank and Chairman of its Audit and Risk Committee. In addition, Mr. Lockhart served on the boards of Aaron’s, Inc., a lease-to-own retailer of furnishings, electronics and appliances; as Chairman of Asset Acceptance Capital Corp., a purchaser of accounts receivable portfolios, until its June 2013 merger with Encore Capital Group, Inc.; IMS Health Incorporated, a global provider of information solutions to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries; Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp.; Dun & Bradstreet Holdings, Inc.; Chairman of APACS; Chairman of Chaps; and on the board of SWIFT International, the global provider of secure financial messaging services.

Mr. Lockhart served on numerous philanthropic boards, including serving in the past as the Chairman of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation (Monticello) and the Chairman of the University of Virginia Board of Managers, Chairman of the Darden Foundation; the Vice-Chairman of the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia and Chairman of its Academic Affairs Committee; Chairman of the Manhattanville College Board of Trustees. Mr. Lockhart received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from The Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia. In addition, Mr. Lockhart serves on the boards of directors of Ingo Payments since December 2015, Featurespace since January 2019, Thredd since January 2022 and currently serves as its Chair, and PayCargo LLC since January 2022, all of which are privately held companies.
