|The Johns Hopkins University Deploys Huron Consulting Group's Click Portal Software to Manage All Research Agreements|
CHICAGO, Feb 29, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced that The Johns Hopkins University (JHU) has implemented a new research agreement tracking system employing the Company's collaborative Click(TM) Portal software.
Known as My Research Agreement Place (MyRAP) at JHU, the new solution was co-developed by teams from JHU and Huron to track all funded commercial contracts, incoming sub awards, grant agreements, and non-funded research agreements. The system provides principal investigators (PIs) and research administration staff with automatic agreement status updates. It also imports required data from other business systems, eliminating redundant entries and creating an easy-to-use online research agreements service center in which both PIs and administrators collaborate.
"With five separate Sponsored Projects Offices, each with slightly different procedures, it became ever more challenging to track the status of our research agreements," said Mike Amey, associate dean for research administration, The Johns Hopkins University. "We had a vision of a system that could serve as a web-based work process tool kit for tracking, negotiating and archiving agreements for each of the five research administration offices. Huron's Click Portal is an ideal platform for tracking these agreements across our research enterprise."
"MyRAP illustrates Click Portal's flexibility in meeting specialized research administration needs," said Nick Stier, managing director, Huron Education. "We were pleased to work with The Johns Hopkins University to develop a pioneering solution to address complex collaboration requirements."
JHU and many other leading research institutions use Huron's Click Portal platform to automate a wide range of administrative and compliance processes, including those associated with Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and conflict of interest (COI), biohazards and stem cells.
